Last Day for a Perfect 10

If you were planning on taking advantage of this month's Close to My Heart's constant campaign, A Perfect 10, don't forget that today is the last day. I just submitted some new digital layouts last night and got the jpegs. After completing my layouts, I realized that I have so many snow pictures because of the major snowstorms we got here last year! So if I have seven layouts for February and one for May in my 2010 scrapbook, that's okay, isn't it?

Hugs and Kisses

Here's a card I made for a friend who just had a baby girl. I used scraps from some of my old (retired) CTMH paper and paper pieced the main image. I love this stamp set, Love You Forever. The sentiment, "hugs and kisses" is from, A Little Buzz. If I make this card again, I would ink the edges of the main green rectangle the same way I did with the green rectangle which has "hug and kisses" on it but I didn't feel like taking the card apart and possibly ruining it! I will probably be including this in a package instead of sending it in an envelope, so I had a bit of fun and made it all poofy with the pearl on top of the crocheted flower on top of the paper flower on top of crocheted ribbon.

Supplies used: (C1398) Love you Forever stamp set, (B1353) A Little Buzz stamp set, (Z1033) Just Blooms™ Big Pinks Paper Flowers, (Z1126) Designer Ribbon Rounds™ Colonial White Collection, (Z1336) Opaques Pearl Adhesive Gems, (retired) Crocheted flower, nestabilities, retired paper

Snail Mail

At preschool, we have different themes of the week. Recently, we had the theme of post office and mail. The kids had a blast making and receiving letters in their mail boxes. Some of them were so excited about getting mail, that they sat right in front of their mailboxes while their friends delivered their Valentine! I could certainly relate to that feeling. Haven't you ever waited by the mailbox? It got me thinking about how much fun it is to receive real handwritten letters and cards. I know that email and texting are so much faster, but don't you miss getting actual letters in the mail? I sure do! With that in mind, I made a bunch of these note cards so I can write short letters to friends when I get a chance. I sent one out to a friend from high school the other day (wow, I've known her for 25 years!). I hope she smiled when she saw it wasn't a bill!

This is another card that was inspired by a sketch from the Clean and Simple stamping blog but I changed it so much I'm not sure I should call it a variation! I like the idea of using strips of paper to create a background piece. It's a good way to use up any coordinating scraps of paper you might have leftover from other projects.

Supplies used: (C1349) Ambiance stamp set, (D1222) Tiny Typewriter Alphabet stamp set, (X7133B) Miracle Level 2 paper pack, (X5642) Cocoa cardstock, (Z2114) Cocoa stamp pad, (Z2353) Sweet Leaf marker, nestabilitiesPin It

Tea Time

I love tea...and teapots...and teacups...and tea sets...and, well, you get the picture. You can imagine how happy I was to see the Tea Time stamp set in the 2011 CTMH Spring/Summer Idea Book. Here's one card I came up with using the polka dotted teapot and teacup. I don't know if the little flourish was meant to be 'steam' but I love how it looks above the teacups. This will be another one of the cards we will make at my 'Stock the Box' card workshop next weekend.

Supplies used: (C1438) Tea Time stamp set, (D1283) Say It In Style, (X7135B) Wings Level 2 paper pack, (Z2157) Vineyard Berry stamp pad, (Z2105) Black stamp pad, (Z1034) Ribbon Rounds Black Collection, (Z1151) foam tape, nestabilities

The While Supplies Last section on my website has a collection of discounted items including the black ribbon I used on this card. Check it out here!Pin It

A Little Buzz

I used a variation of Sketch 121 from the Clean and Simple stamping blog for this card. I changed where I put the sentiment and extended the paper to go further down the card. I love the sweet little images on this stamp set, A Little Buzz. Now, I'd really love to get some copics to be able to color them in...but that will have to wait for the future! I have a friend who just had her second child and I thought this might be a good card for the new big brother. This will be one of the cards we will make at my 'Stock the Box' card workshop next weekend.

Studio J Layouts -- Wings and Aspen

I just ordered another batch of digital layouts so here are a couple of them for you to take a look at. I am still learning and it's very neat when I discover something new, like that you can pretty much mat anything by using a text box, changing the color of the paper of the text box, and sending it back behind what you want to mat!
